Did you know: You CAN actually start a sentence with because! Would you like to learn how? Let's begin then. Clauses are clusters of words that make up a sentence. There are two different types of clauses: dependent and indepentent. Dependent clauses are exactly what they sound like, they can't stand alone in a sentence. Independent clauses can stand alone, but you can also combine them with dependent clauses or other indepentent clauses. Dependent clauses can't be combined with other dependent clauses to form a sentence. But what is the difference between these clauses? There are 3 different things that need to be included in an indepentent clause. A subject, an object, and a verb. So basically who or what you clause is about, who or what your subject is interacting with, and how your subject is interacting with the object.
